Fueling for practices and meets

Learning about how much carbohydrates, protein, and fats a swimmer should eat is important. But just as important, a swimmer should know when to eat. A swimmer should eat enough foods daily to have enough fuel for every practice session. A swimmer should also obtain additional fuel during a practice session to maintain their level of energy. Lastly, it is critical that a swimmer eats after practice to replenish glycogen stores and maximize muscle recovery.
